WE HAVE OFFICALLY CLOSED ON THE NEW CHURCH

Earlier this week, we officially closed on the purchase of the new church building in Mount Pleasant.

We did run into a few last minute complications, but thankfully we were able to make some adjustments to complete the closing.

The primary issue was that we were unable to use the land the parish owns on Bear Creek Pike as collateral on the loan for the new building. Therefore, the amount that we were able to borrow for the mortgage on the new building was reduced to $330,000. The final purchase price was $520,000.

This meant that in order to move forward with the purchase, we needed to make a more substantial down payment than originally planned; a total down payment of $190,000.

We were able to do this, but it does cut into some of the money we had originally intended to be used towards renovations in the new building.

A small committee has been formed which will be working to coordinate the necessary steps for our transition into the new church building.

This input will be reviewed by the committee and taken into consideration as we forward. The committee will be tasked with making decisions which are best for the parish, taking into account the constraints of budget, timeline, and feasibility.
